I was fortunate enough to be invited on a world tour with The Black Eyed Peas at the height of their stardom. It was a position that was just starting to be a thing. The “media kid”. Responsibilities included taking photos, shooting behind the scenes videos, and getting branding shots for the sponsor. As a first “real world” job out of school, it was eye-opening on many different levels. Beyond the incredible people I met and the lessons they taught me, the experience instilled in me a deep respect of craft. Whether building stages or photographing them, the constant was craft - tools, rituals, an order inside of a discipline. This realization helped me focus and take strides as a creator, photographer and visual thinker.
